The FBI is investigating malware hidden inside games hosted on Steam

The FBI has initiated an investigation into a hacker believed to have released multiple video games embedded with malware on the popular gaming platform Steam. The agency is actively seeking individuals who may have fallen victim to these malicious games. Among the titles under scrutiny are BlockBlasters, Chemia, Dashverse/DashFPS, Lampy, Lunara, PirateFi, and Tokenova. These games, allegedly developed by the same cybercriminal over the past two years, were available on the Steam store, raising serious concerns about user safety. This isn't the first incident involving malware on Steam. Previously, hackers succeeded in releasing a number of games that, while operable, were designed to function as Trojan horses. Their intent was to deceive players into unknowingly installing harmful software on their devices. Although Steam removed the questionable titles, the exact number of affected users remains unclear. The FBI is urging anyone with information regarding these malware-ridden games to reach out securely. Communications can be conducted via Signal, Telegram, or email, ensuring confidentiality. So far, both Valve and the FBI have not provided any comments regarding this ongoing investigation.
