Apple is gearing up for its Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) scheduled for June 9 in Cupertino, and anticipation is building around potential advancements in its software lineup. Reports indicate that the tech giant may shift from its traditional naming convention to a year-based system, resulting in upcoming releases being labeled as iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and WatchOS 26. Among the anticipated updates for WatchOS 26 is the introduction of third-party widget support within the Control Center, a feature that many Apple Watch users have long desired. Currently, users are limited to Apple's own toggles and tiles, but the new update is expected to allow developers to integrate their widgets directly into the Control Center. This enhancement will enable users to access vital information and functions from third-party applications, such as Wi-Fi settings, battery levels, and Focus Mode, directly from their watch. Furthermore, reports suggest that the layout of widgets within the Control Center could become fully customizable, allowing users to rearrange or remove them with greater ease than before. Although Apple has not yet disclosed a specific release date for the software, history suggests that new features showcased during WWDC will likely be rolled out shortly after the iPhone launch event in September.
