In just three days, Apple is set to unveil the highly anticipated iPhone 17 series, and fresh insights into the design of the Pro models have emerged. Renowned analyst Mark Gurman from Bloomberg reports that the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max may introduce a distinctive cutout on the lower back, potentially serving as a wireless charging zone. This aligns with earlier speculation regarding a unique combination of glass and aluminum in the back design, aimed at enhancing support for wireless charging technologies like MagSafe and Qi. Last year, The Information hinted that the Pro models would feature a hybrid aluminum-glass construction, although the precise design details remained elusive, resulting in various concept images surfacing online. Visual interpretations from MacRumors suggested a rounded rectangular section on the rear, which now seems to match Gurman's description. It remains unclear whether Apple will implement a uniform color scheme across the aluminum and glass components or choose a contrasting two-tone finish around the charging area. Interestingly, Apple appears to be reverting to an aluminum frame for the Pro models, moving away from the titanium frames seen in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro. Gurman speculates that this change could be aimed at reducing weight and improving heat management. Previous iterations of the Pro models, starting from the iPhone X through the iPhone 14 Pro, utilized stainless steel frames. On the performance side, the iPhone 17 Pro series is expected to debut with the new A19 Pro chip, promising enhanced battery performance and a significant upgrade for the telephoto camera, which reportedly will increase from 12MP to 48MP. Additional enhancements may include a variable aperture and the capability to record video using both front and rear cameras simultaneously, along with a major upgrade to the front-facing camera sensor. Tech enthusiasts and Apple fans will finally get answers to their speculations during the official launch event on Tuesday, where details regarding the pricing, features, and release dates for the iPhone 17 Pro, Pro Max, and Air models will be revealed.
