The anticipation for OnePlus's newest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 15, is reaching fever pitch following its recent reveal at Qualcomm's Snapdragon Summit. A comprehensive unboxing video has surfaced, presented by Louis Lee, the President of OnePlus China, showcasing the device's striking new Sand Storm color variant. In the unboxing, viewers get a first-hand look at the contents of the box, which includes a white charging brick, a signature red USB-C cable, a SIM ejector tool, and a matching protective case. The video provides a closer look at both the front and back of the OnePlus 15, highlighting its distinctive squarish camera module reminiscent of the OnePlus 13, along with a new Plus key replacing the traditional alert slider. The power button and volume controls remain conveniently positioned on the right side of the device. Under the hood, the OnePlus 15 is set to be powered by the cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and will feature a 165Hz display that promises to enhance gaming experiences significantly. Notably, OnePlus has concluded its collaboration with Hasselblad for camera technology, opting to implement its own DetailMax image engine instead. The device will run on ColorOS in China, while users outside of the region can expect OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16. Although an official launch date has yet to be confirmed, speculations suggest that the OnePlus 15 could be unveiled in China on October 27, with an anticipated rollout to India in early January. Recent leaks indicate that the phone will boast a 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display and support for LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. Moreover, it is expected to feature an aerospace-grade ceramic coating developed through the Micro-Arc Oxidation (MAO) process, which should enhance durability significantly beyond that of aluminum and titanium.
