Digital independence has emerged as a crucial priority for European nations, with officials declaring it a matter of national survival. In light of escalating geopolitical tensions, European leaders are actively seeking to reduce their reliance on American digital services, particularly as concerns about reliance on U.S. technology grow. The dependence on U.S. tech companies for cloud services, which command an 85% market share in Europe, is increasingly viewed as a vulnerability, especially in the context of rising cyber threats from nations like Russia.
