AI is fostering new job titles within HR and people management

The integration of artificial intelligence in human resources is giving rise to a variety of innovative job titles focused on enhancing employee management and experience. Notable companies like Amazon and Siemens are leveraging AI to streamline processes, such as analyzing resumes and providing job recommendations tailored to candidates' skills. According to a recent survey by Sapient Insights Group, 31% of organizations reported utilizing some form of AI technology this year. This trend is prompting companies to create new HR positions that demand expertise in AI applications, including data literacy, analytics, and the engineering of large-language model prompts. Furthermore, a report by Robert Half indicates that organizations are prepared to offer higher salaries for skills related to AI, such as data science and business intelligence. "Technological advancements have historically transformed jobs and the workplace, paving the way for new roles and skill sets," remarked Christina Giglio, a technology hiring consultant at Robert Half. "AI is clearly continuing this evolution." Among the emerging positions is the AI adoption and employee experience lead, responsible for facilitating a smooth integration of AI tools into the workplace. This role emphasizes the value of the technology, guiding employees on its usage and benefits. As Anthony Donnarumma, CEO of the recruiting agency 24 Seven, noted, "AI does not replace people; it requires skilled individuals to bridge the gap between human work and technology." Another new title is the AI trainer or coach, tasked with training AI systems like chatbots and ensuring they produce the desired HR outcomes. This role is a blend of technical, editorial, and quality control responsibilities, as outlined by Ronni Zehavi, CEO of HR tech platform HiBob. The individual in this position curates data for AI, reviews outputs for accuracy, and teaches systems how to respond effectively to meet organizational goals. The people data and AI insights lead focuses on transforming raw employee data into actionable insights, helping leadership make informed decisions regarding workforce strategy. This role requires data literacy and analytical skills, as well as the ability to interpret AI outputs effectively. Lastly, the responsible AI and people governance manager plays a crucial role in setting policies and oversight to ensure that AI applications are safe, fair, and transparent. This position, also known as AI governance and risk lead, is vital for establishing guidelines that protect employee privacy and maintain compliance with regulatory standards. As organizations navigate the complexities of AI integration, these new roles are essential in ensuring that technology enhances rather than hinders human resource practices.
