Elon Musk’s XChat app is coming to Android soon! Know what it offers

Elon Musk's innovative messaging platform, XChat, which debuted on iOS in April, is now gearing up for its Android release. The company has announced that users can pre-register for the app, although an official launch date has yet to be disclosed. XChat aims to provide a seamless messaging experience for X users, featuring a range of capabilities reminiscent of popular apps like WhatsApp, but with added functionalities designed to prioritize user privacy. Among its standout features are end-to-end encryption, a secure PIN for account protection, disappearing messages, and the ability to block screenshots—tools that enhance privacy and security. The announcement of the Android version was shared on the XChat account, encouraging users to sign up for early access. The app's description highlights its commitment to privacy, stating, "No ads. No tracking. Fully end-to-end encrypted." In addition to robust privacy measures, XChat will boast features such as the ability to edit or delete sent messages, initiate audio and video calls, and create group chats accommodating up to 481 participants. Users will also benefit from the ability to share large media files without the need for a separate account, as they can easily log in using their existing X account. As anticipation builds for the Android launch, users eager for a more integrated messaging experience within the X ecosystem are encouraged to pre-register and stay tuned for further updates.
