Elon Musk could soon become world’s first trillionaire; Here's what $1 trillion fortune looks like

Elon Musk is on the verge of achieving a remarkable milestone that may soon see him becoming the world’s first trillionaire. Recent predictions indicate that his net worth could exceed the staggering $1 trillion threshold. As of June 9, 2026, Bloomberg’s Billionaire Index estimates Musk's wealth at approximately $716 billion, with projections suggesting a significant increase in the near future. Musk, who serves as CEO of Tesla, holds shares and stock options estimated at around $273 billion in the electric vehicle company. Additionally, SpaceX, another of Musk's ventures, is anticipated to go public through an initial public offering (IPO) shortly, with a projected valuation hitting approximately $1.77 trillion. Notably, Musk owns nearly half of SpaceX, meaning if the company achieves its expected valuation, his stake could be valued at around $841 billion. Combining these figures could elevate Musk's total fortune to approximately $1.11 trillion. However, it is important to note that much of Musk's wealth is closely tied to the fluctuating stock prices of Tesla and SpaceX, meaning his net worth could vary considerably with market changes. To put a $1 trillion fortune into perspective, it would surpass the GDP of numerous countries around the globe. According to the International Monetary Fund, more than 20 nations have a GDP exceeding $1.1 trillion, while economies like Taiwan, Ireland, Sweden, and Singapore remain below that mark. Currently, Musk holds the title of the richest individual according to Bloomberg. If his net worth reaches the anticipated $1.11 trillion, it would surpass the combined wealth of the next four wealthiest individuals, including Google’s Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Oracle’s Larry Ellison, and Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, whose combined net worth is estimated at around $1.09 trillion. Moreover, Musk's potential $1 trillion status would also exceed the annual economic output of Manhattan and surpass the total value of all residential and commercial properties in Houston combined.
