In a recent podcast appearance, Elon Musk unveiled intriguing details about his partner, Shivon Zilis, highlighting her Indian heritage. During the episode of "WTF is?" hosted by Nikhil Kamath, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX revealed that one of their sons bears the middle name "Sekhar," paying tribute to the esteemed Indian-American physicist and Nobel laureate, Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar. Musk noted, "I’m not sure if you know this, but my partner Shivon is half Indian. One of my sons with her, his middle name is Sekhar after Chandrasekhar." He also delved into Zilis’s background, mentioning her adoption as a baby and her upbringing in Canada. Musk elaborated, stating, "She was given up for adoption when she was a baby. I think her father was like an exchange student at the university or something like that." Zilis, who has been with Neuralink since 2017, currently holds the position of Director of Operations and Special Projects at Musk's brain-computer interface company. An accomplished Yale graduate in Economics and Philosophy, she is a mother to four of Musk’s children: twins Strider and Azure, daughter Arcadia, and son Seldon Lycurgus. During the discussion, Musk also reflected on the significant contributions of Indian talent to the United States. He expressed concern about shifting dynamics, stating, "America has been an immense beneficiary of talent from India, but that seems to be changing now," as he pointed to stricter U.S. visa regulations and policy uncertainties that are increasingly dissuading Indian professionals from seeking opportunities in America.
