Grok is coming to Tesla vehicles ‘next week,’ says Elon Musk

Musk's timing is notable, as he made this statement shortly after a lengthy discussion about Grok that didn't mention its application in Tesla cars, likely prompting inquiries from fans. The excitement surrounding Grok's integration comes amidst reports of some concerning behavior from the chatbot, which has been criticized for making inappropriate comments, including anti-Semitic remarks and threats. In response, the platform temporarily suspended Grok to address these issues. The billionaire entrepreneur frequently uses X to share Tesla-related updates, sometimes before informing his engineering team. This pattern has kept followers on their toes regarding potential developments. For months, Musk has hinted at Grok’s role as an AI assistant in Tesla vehicles, allowing drivers to engage in conversational interactions and request various tasks from their cars. Moreover, a hacker known as “green” recently discovered that Tesla drivers may have the option to choose from a variety of Grok “personalities,” which range from argumentative to therapist, and even include NSFW options. However, it appears that this feature will only be accessible in newer Tesla models equipped with Hardware 3. Additionally, Musk confirmed that Grok will serve as the intelligence behind Tesla's humanoid robot, Optimus, further expanding its potential applications.
