Elloe AI wants to be the ‘immune system’ for AI — check it out at Disrupt 2025

Owen Sakawa, the visionary behind Elloe AI, envisions his platform as the "immune system for AI," likening it to an antivirus specifically designed for AI agents. In a recent interview before the highly anticipated TechCrunch Disrupt conference, where Elloe AI has earned recognition as a Top 20 finalist in the Startup Battlefield competition, Sakawa emphasized the urgent need for a protective layer over large language models (LLMs). The primary goal of Elloe AI is to address critical issues such as bias, hallucinations, errors, compliance discrepancies, misinformation, and unsafe outputs. "AI is evolving at breakneck speed, often without the necessary safeguards in place to prevent potential pitfalls," Sakawa asserted. The platform functions as an API or SDK, integrating seamlessly with the output layer of existing AI models, referred to by Sakawa as an "infrastructure on top of your LLM pipeline." This setup effectively fact-checks every response generated by the AI. Elloe AI employs a multi-layered approach, featuring what Sakawa calls "anchors." The first anchor is responsible for verifying the accuracy of the LLM's responses against credible sources. The second anchor ensures compliance with regulations, such as HIPAA and GDPR, safeguarding against the exposure of personal information. Finally, the last anchor creates an audit trail that details the decision-making processes, allowing regulators and auditors to trace how conclusions were reached and evaluate the confidence levels associated with those decisions. Importantly, Sakawa clarified that Elloe AI does not operate on an LLM itself, as he believes that having LLMs evaluate other LLMs merely applies a "Band-Aid to another wound." Instead, the system utilizes advanced AI techniques, including machine learning, while also incorporating human oversight. Elloe AI's team diligently monitors evolving regulations related to data and user protection.
