ElevenLabs, a prominent player in the voice AI sector, has unveiled a new mobile application designed for both iOS and Android platforms, allowing users to effortlessly create voice clips from text. Previously, users were limited to using the web application to generate samples with ElevenLabs’ advanced voice libraries. The new mobile app changes that dynamic, enabling users to produce audio clips wherever they are. Simply by typing or pasting text into the app, users can select various voice options to generate their desired audio output. The app offers a free tier that provides approximately 10 minutes of audio generation, allowing users to experiment with different models to find the right balance between cost and audio quality. Notably, users will have a shared credit limit that applies across both the mobile app and the web version. The latest app version incorporates ElevenLabs' cutting-edge v3 alpha text-to-speech models, giving users enhanced control over voice expressions through specific tags. Jack McDermott, the mobile growth lead at ElevenLabs, noted that many content creators have already been utilizing mobile web browsers to generate voice samples for integration with popular applications like CapCut, Instagram, and Inshot. In response to this growing demand, ElevenLabs aimed to deliver a more streamlined and powerful native mobile experience. "Over the past year, we’ve witnessed a surge of creativity from our community—encompassing content creators, marketers, educators, and voice artists—who have been leveraging ElevenLabs to bring their projects to fruition. Many have requested a faster, intuitive, and more powerful mobile experience," McDermott explained in a statement. The introduction of this app positions ElevenLabs in competition with other voice generation and cloning platforms such as Speechify and Captions. This marks ElevenLabs’ second consumer-oriented app following the launch of the Reader app last year, which allows users to listen to various written materials on the go. Earlier this year, the company also expanded the Reader app to enable publishers to distribute audiobooks. Looking ahead, ElevenLabs has plans to introduce additional features, including speech-to-text capabilities, a conversational AI agent, and enhanced MCP-powered experiences, such as the anticipated 11.ai integration.
