A woman in Evansville, Indiana, is facing serious legal consequences after allegedly contaminating a DoorDash order, leading to severe reactions from the customers. On December 7, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a man claiming that he and his wife experienced vomiting and a burning sensation after consuming fast food delivered through the app. The man observed a suspicious red spray on the delivery bag, prompting him to review footage from their doorbell camera. The video revealed that after delivering the food and taking a photo, the driver, identified as Kourtney Stevenson from Kentucky, appeared to spray a substance onto the meal using a small aerosol can attached to her keychain. When contacted by police, Stevenson explained that she was using DoorDash while visiting her father and claimed that the spray was intended for a spider. However, the sheriff's office noted that with temperatures dropping to 35 degrees Fahrenheit, outdoor spiders would not be active in Indiana at that time. After she declined to participate in an interview with law enforcement, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Stevenson on charges of battery resulting in moderate injury and tampering with a consumer product. She is currently awaiting extradition to Indiana. A spokesperson for DoorDash condemned the incident, stating that Stevenson has been permanently banned from the platform. "We have absolutely zero tolerance for this type of appalling behavior," the spokesperson emphasized, adding that the company is cooperating with law enforcement in their ongoing investigation. Reports from both The New York Times and NBC News indicate that it is still unclear whether Stevenson has legal representation to comment on the charges against her.
