Deepinder Goyal, co-founder of Zomato, has unveiled an exciting new capability of his health-tech wearable device, Temple. Known as the 'Entropy' feature, it was introduced last month and is now beginning to yield tangible results. In a recent post on X, Goyal shared how this feature has finally allowed him to establish a meditation routine after years of struggling. "For over a decade, I attempted to meditate without success," Goyal reflected. "With Temple, I can now observe my gradual progress, even when my mind feels chaotic." He emphasized that tracking his Entropy score has become an integral part of his daily life, helping him gauge his meditation progress, especially on days when he feels no mental shift. The Entropy feature not only aids in meditation but also encourages Goyal to engage in more effective workouts. He described it as a "delightful metric" that enhances his quality of life. "Entropy helps me live a fuller, calmer life and motivates me to exercise more effectively," he said, highlighting the dual benefits of the feature. Temple is currently inviting users to sign up for early access through its official website, while Goyal encourages interested individuals to follow the company’s X account for updates. However, the specific mechanics behind the Entropy feature remain undisclosed. Last month, the company posted on X, explaining that Entropy tracks real-time body energy expenditure. It claims that the data updates every second, providing users with a continuous snapshot of their metabolic activity. The Entropy score ranges from 1 to 250, where lower scores indicate a more relaxed state and higher scores reflect increased energy expenditure during physical activities. This innovative approach positions Temple as a game-changer in the wearable tech landscape.
