Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition launches on Macs with Apple silicon on July 17

CD PROJEKT RED has announced the exciting launch of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition for Macs featuring Apple silicon, set for release on Thursday, July 17. This milestone marks the game's first entry onto Apple hardware, combining the original game with the highly praised Phantom Liberty expansion. Designed to harness the power of Apple silicon and the Metal graphics framework, this version promises stunning graphics, impressive performance, and energy efficiency. Players can look forward to advanced features including MetalFX upscaling, AMD FSR frame generation, and dynamically calibrated HDR. Additionally, the game offers built-in Spatial Audio with head tracking functionality when paired with AirPods. Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is optimized for macOS 15.5 and newer, requiring a minimum of 16GB of unified memory. It is compatible across the entire M1 to M4 chip families, making it accessible on devices such as the iMac, MacBook Air, Mac mini, MacBook Pro, and Mac Studio. Gamers will find the title available for download on the Mac App Store, GOG.com, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. In-game features include customized graphics presets tailored to each Apple silicon model and the use of MetalFX upscaling alongside Apple’s TBDR rendering architecture to enhance performance and efficiency. The experience is further enriched by cross-progression support and full compatibility with various game controllers, Magic Mouse, and Trackpad. Later in the year, players can expect further enhancements with the integration of new Metal 4 features unveiled at WWDC 2025, including MetalFX Frame Interpolation for smoother frame rates and MetalFX Denoising for cutting-edge real-time path tracing. CD PROJEKT RED anticipates that these upgrades will enable the game to achieve up to 120fps at Ultra settings on high-end Macs. The Ultimate Edition also comes with all previously released free updates, ensuring an optimized gameplay experience across all tiers of Apple silicon hardware.
