
This past weekend, travelers encountered considerable disruptions at key European airports, including Heathrow, Brussels, and Berlin, due to what has been termed a "cyber-related incident" by Collins Aerospace. The company, which provides technology for airline check-in processes, prompted airlines to switch to manual check-ins following the apparent cyberattack. As reported by Flightradar24, over 130 flights at Heathrow experienced delays of 20 minutes or more by Sunday morning, with 13 flights canceled the previous day. In response to the situation, Heathrow's official social media account stated, "Work continues to resolve and recover from Friday’s outage of a Collins Aerospace airline system that impacted check-in. We apologize to those who have faced delays, but by working together with airlines, the vast majority of flights have continued to operate." Airlines at Heathrow and other affected airports have advised passengers to arrive early, suggesting at least three hours before departure for long-haul flights and two hours for short-haul journeys to mitigate the impact of these delays.
