Cursor now has a mobile app for guiding your coding agent on the go

Cursor is making waves in the tech world, undeterred by the recent $60 billion acquisition by SpaceX. The company revealed a new mobile application specifically for iOS users, enabling them to interact with coding agents directly from their smartphones. This innovative app aligns with the Cursor 2.0 updates announced in October, which emphasize the use of independent coding agents. With this mobile app, users can create new coding agents or engage with those initially set up via the desktop version. Cursor's initiative comes as part of a growing trend in AI-driven coding tools, similar to recent launches by companies like Anthropic and OpenAI, which also provide mobile interfaces for their coding solutions. As the landscape of coding evolves, developers are increasingly moving away from traditional multi-monitor desktop setups. The convenience of mobile devices allows for uninterrupted communication with remote coding agents. Boris Cherny, the head of Claude Code at Anthropic, recently shared that he has transitioned almost entirely to mobile coding. "Most of my coding now is on my phone," Cherny revealed during a discussion. "If someone had told me that six months ago, I would have thought they were crazy, but here we are today."
