CUDIS, a rising star in the wearables industry, is set to debut its latest line of health rings this week, introducing a groundbreaking AI-powered 'agent coach' that aims to guide users toward their fitness aspirations. This new offering distinguishes itself from typical wearables by not only providing health data but also encouraging healthy habits through a unique points system. Users can earn digital 'health points' by engaging in positive health behaviors, such as achieving daily sleep targets, completing 10,000 steps, participating in sports, and interacting with the AI coach. These points can be exchanged in an integrated marketplace for discounts on health supplements and various products. The ring's AI Agent Coach employs generative AI to customize health programs tailored to individual needs. It generates personalized plans, including daily tasks, recovery strategies, supplement advice, and direct connections to licensed medical professionals. Additionally, the device tracks a range of bodily metrics and daily actions, such as sleep quality, stress levels, and recovery, helping users understand how these factors influence their Pace of Aging (PoA). This feature indicates whether a user's biological age is advancing more quickly or slowly than their chronological age. Edison Chen, CEO and co-founder of CUDIS, shared with TechCrunch that the company has seen significant success since launching its first wearable in 2024, with over 30,000 units sold from the first two models. The app now boasts a user base of 250,000 across 103 countries, with North America, Europe, and Asia being the strongest markets. Chen emphasized the company’s strength in recognizing patterns among health-conscious individuals seeking optimization. The AI is designed to alert users to negative trends, such as chronic poor sleep or elevated resting heart rates, and either recommends lifestyle adjustments or connects them with healthcare professionals. CUDIS ensures user data protection through encryption on the Solana blockchain and has been characterized as a 'web3 AI wellness company.' While TechCrunch could not independently verify the security features of the smart ring, the company announced a successful $5 million seed funding round in 2024, led by Draper Associates and supported by various blockchain-focused investors. CUDIS also has plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign soon.
