CRED, a premium platform based in Bengaluru catering to creditworthy users, is enhancing its services through advanced artificial intelligence technology. With a commitment to trust, security, and superior design, CRED's latest AI initiatives are designed to deliver a more personalized and intuitive experience while preserving high standards of quality. In a recent discussion on OpenAI’s Executive Function series, Swamy Seetharaman from CRED revealed how the company's transition to an AI-centric approach is expediting processes while upholding its esteemed brand values. "Initially, we focused on the affluent households of India—clients who demand trust, transparency, security, and exceptional design. These have been our guiding principles since the beginning," Seetharaman remarked. As CRED expanded, managing increased product offerings, teams, and data became challenging, leading to the question: how can we enhance efficiency across all functions? According to Seetharaman, AI has played a pivotal role in this transformation, enabling swift and accurate operations without compromising the brand's core values. At the heart of this transformation is Cleo, an AI-driven conversational assistant based on OpenAI’s cutting-edge models, such as GPT-4.0 and GPT-5. Cleo interacts with users across three key categories: informational, contextual, and transactional, accurately interpreting intent and delivering empathetic responses. To further support its operations, CRED has introduced two additional AI tools: Thea, which aids customer service agents by summarizing discussions and proposing next steps, and Stark, designed to streamline the creation or revision of standard operating procedures within minutes. The impact of these innovations has been remarkable, with a 14 percentage point increase in customer satisfaction scores reported. Cleo has also achieved a 98% resolution accuracy rate within three months, successfully managing 18% more multi-intent conversations and significantly reducing average handling times and session drop-offs. Looking forward, CRED intends to broaden Cleo's functionalities throughout its business operations while utilizing AI to identify gaps in user support, allowing for immediate improvements in workflows. Seetharaman emphasizes that successful AI integration hinges on aligning it with the company's core values. "Every organization must discern what is most critical—whether it's efficiency, effectiveness, or both—and utilize AI in harmony with those values. By embracing OpenAI’s technology, we have unlocked significant advancements aligned with our principles of compounding and agility. The initial outcomes are promising, and we are committed to enhancing and scaling this impact further."
