In a shift towards transparency, Microsoft, which previously utilized nondisclosure agreements during the early stages of its data center projects, announced it would no longer pursue such practices. The tech giant stated that it prioritizes transparent communication with the communities it operates in, aiming to build trust and facilitate meaningful discussions. Microsoft has also introduced a new initiative called the "Community-First AI Infrastructure Plan," which pledges to take responsibility for its electricity use, reduce water consumption, and generate local employment opportunities. Brockovich emphasized that residents are open to receiving difficult information; their primary concern lies in being involved in the decision-making process.
