CMF, the innovative sub-brand of Nothing, has officially registered as an independent entity in India, now operating under the name CMF India Private Limited. This significant milestone was confirmed on December 23, 2025, empowering CMF to carve its own niche in the competitive landscape of consumer technology, stepping out of the shadow of its parent company. The announcement was made by Akis Evangelidis, co-founder of Nothing, through a post on X (formerly Twitter). He emphasized India's growing role in the global consumer tech ecosystem, stating, "CMF has an important role to play in that journey, and we’re happy to share that it is now a separate, legally incorporated entity in India." With India's ambition and ongoing advancements, the country is rapidly becoming a pivotal player in the global tech arena. Evangelidis also noted that following a substantial investment of $100 million in a manufacturing partnership with Optiemus, CMF is set to establish a strong presence in India. He expressed confidence in the brand's vision, stating, "On a path to building the country’s first truly global consumer tech brand. Built from India, to the world." This move signals a new chapter for CMF, which has quickly gained traction in India as an affordable tech brand. With its innovative offerings like the CMF Phone 2 Pro and plans to expand into wearables, including earbuds and smartwatches, CMF is poised to make a significant impact in the market. The upcoming launch of their first pair of budget headphones is highly anticipated, marking an exciting phase for the brand as it aims to disrupt the global industry from its Indian base.
