Amazon Web Services (AWS), a dominant player in the cloud computing sector, experienced a significant outage on Monday that impacted a wide range of well-known websites. The company attributed the disruption to an "operational issue" that affected several of its services. In a statement released at 2:01 a.m. PDT, AWS announced that it was pursuing multiple strategies to expedite the recovery process. The outage led to widespread frustration among users, particularly in the gaming community, with popular online games like Roblox and Fortnite facing interruptions. Additionally, cryptocurrency platform Coinbase reported difficulties for a number of its users, who found themselves unable to access their accounts during this incident. User-reported issues were tracked by Downdetector, which indicated that several other sites, such as Amazon, Snapchat, Disney+, Reddit, and Canva, were also experiencing problems. This situation is ongoing, and further updates are expected as AWS works to resolve the issues.
