Anthropic has unveiled an exciting new feature that integrates Canva’s design capabilities directly into its Claude AI chatbot. This advancement allows users to create, edit, and manage their design projects by simply using text prompts, eliminating the hassle of toggling between different applications. Starting today, subscribers of both Canva (starting at $15/month) and Claude AI (from $17/month) can harness this feature to accomplish a variety of design tasks. Users can efficiently build presentations, resize images, fill templates automatically, and summarize content within Canva Docs and Presentations—all through natural language commands in Claude’s chat interface. This innovative integration is driven by the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open-source framework created by Anthropic. MCP has also been adopted by major corporations such as Microsoft, Figma, and Canva, earning the nickname “the USB-C port of AI” for its ability to enable smooth and secure connections between AI models and third-party applications. Claude proudly stands as the first AI assistant to utilize this protocol for Canva workflows. Anwar Haneef, head of Canva’s Ecosystem, expressed enthusiasm about this collaboration, stating that users can now effortlessly generate, summarize, review, and publish designs directly within a Claude chat. This streamlining condenses traditionally multi-step design processes into a single, conversational workflow. In addition to the Canva integration, Claude is broadening its support for various platforms. New connectors for Notion, Stripe, Prisma, Socket, and Figma have been added, enhancing Claude's capacity to access data, execute tasks, and maintain contextual awareness across a broader array of applications. To assist users in navigating these features, Anthropic has introduced an integrations directory accessible on both web and desktop platforms. This directory offers a comprehensive overview of all supported third-party tools, marking Claude’s transformation from a simple text-based assistant to a robust AI productivity platform. These enhancements highlight a significant industry shift towards AI-first workflows, where chat interfaces increasingly act as central hubs for managing applications, data, and tasks across the digital landscape.
