In a surprising development, the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement is urging that chemtrail conspiracy theories become a federal focus. This push comes from a notable figure within MAHA, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is also an outspoken anti-vaccine advocate. A memo obtained by KFF News, authored by MAHA influencer Gray Delany, was sent to Calley Means, a health advisor at the White House, outlining these controversial ideas. The memo details a series of unverified allegations suggesting that academic researchers and federal agencies are covertly dispersing harmful substances via aircraft, thereby poisoning the American populace and triggering severe weather events, such as last summer's catastrophic flooding in Texas. Delany expresses outrage in the memo, stating, "It is unconscionable that anyone should be allowed to spray known neurotoxins and environmental toxins over our nation’s citizens, their land, food and water supplies." However, the scientific community has responded with skepticism. Daniel Swain, a climate scientist from UCLA, criticized the claims as false and often physically impossible. He described the memo as shocking, remarking, "It doesn’t get more tinfoil hat. They really believe toxins are being sprayed." Delany concluded the memo by suggesting several actions for federal agencies, including forming a joint task force to examine the alleged geoengineering, organizing a roundtable discussion, incorporating the issues into the MAHA commission report, and publicly addressing the purported health and environmental dangers. As of now, it remains uncertain whether Kennedy, Means, or any federal entities will act on Delany's recommendations. A spokesperson for the Department of Health and Human Services, Emily Hilliard, stated that the department does not comment on prospective policy decisions or task forces. Notably, the MAHA Commission recently released its "Make Our Children Healthy Again" report on September 9, yet it did not address any of the topics raised in Delany’s memo, indicating a missed opportunity for these claims to gain traction.
