You can now use Apple Music inside ChatGPT to discover new songs

OpenAI has introduced an exciting new feature within the ChatGPT app, allowing users to integrate Apple Music for an enhanced music discovery experience. This integration enables users to find tracks, create playlists, and build music libraries through natural language interactions. According to 9to5Mac, while users can listen to song samples within ChatGPT, direct streaming of songs is not supported. The Apple Music integration is designed to leverage previous conversations, allowing ChatGPT to recommend songs or artists based on individual preferences. For instance, if the chatbot remembers your favorite song, it can suggest similar tracks or artists. Users can issue creative commands such as, "Create a 30-song rock and roll Christmas playlist on Apple Music, but avoid clichés," or "Make Barney's Get Psyched Mix from How I Met Your Mother." ChatGPT will then assist in finding and adding the requested songs to the user's Apple Music playlists. Remarkably, there's no need to know the exact song title; users can describe it vaguely, like saying, "Find me that romantic song on Dhurandhar," and the chatbot will help identify it. While this feature may not match Google's Hum to Search, which can identify songs from humming or singing, the Apple Music integration is a welcomed enhancement for music lovers. To utilize Apple Music within ChatGPT, users should navigate to the ChatGPT app directory by visiting https://chatgpt.com/apps or accessing the Apps section on the website. After connecting their Apple Music account and logging in, they can easily summon the Apple Music app in the chat by typing @AppleMusic. In addition to Apple Music, ChatGPT supports a limited range of other apps, including Spotify, Canva, DoorDash, Booking.com, Expedia, Figma, Zillow, and Coursera. OpenAI has invited developers to submit their applications for review, with more additions expected to roll out by 2026.
