In an exciting development, ChatGPT, the AI chatbot developed by OpenAI, is launching a new feature called "Your Year with ChatGPT." This annual review tool is designed for users in select markets, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. The feature will be available to users with free, Plus, and Pro accounts, provided they have activated the "reference saved memories" and "reference chat history" settings, as well as met a minimum threshold for conversation activity. However, it’s important to note that Team, Enterprise, or Education accounts will not have access to this feature. "Your Year with ChatGPT" aims to deliver a lightweight, privacy-conscious experience that puts users in control. Drawing inspiration from Spotify's popular year-end retrospective, this new offering presents users with personalized graphics and awards reflecting their interactions with ChatGPT throughout the year. For example, if a user frequently sought solutions to challenges, they might earn the title of "Creative Debugger." In addition to the awards, the feature generates a custom poem and image that encapsulates the user’s topics of interest over the year. Although the anticipation builds for next year, particularly with ChatGPT's plans to expand its content offerings in 2026, the current experience focuses on individual user engagement. Users will find the year-end review highlighted on the home screen of the ChatGPT app but will not be forced to view it automatically. The offering will be accessible on both the ChatGPT web platform and its mobile applications for iOS and Android. Users can also initiate the experience directly by asking ChatGPT for "Your Year with ChatGPT."
