ChatGPT users send 2.5 billion prompts a day

OpenAI has revealed that ChatGPT now handles an astounding 2.5 billion prompts from users worldwide each day, as reported by Axios. Of this staggering total, approximately 330 million daily prompts originate from users in the United States, underscoring the widespread adoption of OpenAI’s flagship AI chatbot. To put this in perspective, Alphabet, the parent company of Google, does not disclose daily search data. However, it has announced that Google processes around 5 trillion searches annually, which breaks down to nearly 14 billion searches each day. Independent analysis supports these figures, with Neil Patel of NP Digital estimating that Google receives about 13.7 billion searches daily. Other research from digital marketing firms SparkToro and Datos suggests the number may reach as high as 16.4 billion searches per day. Despite this vast landscape of search queries, ChatGPT's growth has been remarkable. Back in December, OpenAI's CEO Sam Altman noted that users were sending more than 1 billion queries to ChatGPT daily. In just eight months, that figure has more than doubled, highlighting the rapid ascent of this AI technology in the realm of user interaction.
