You've been chatting for a while — is this a good time for a break?', invites users to either continue their chat or take a pause by selecting 'This was helpful'. OpenAI is currently fine-tuning the timing and appearance of these reminders to ensure they feel organic and beneficial. This update aligns with OpenAI's shift in focus from traditional metrics such as engagement time or click rates to prioritizing long-term user satisfaction and well-being. In a recent blog post, OpenAI expressed its commitment to measuring success based on whether users feel they have achieved their goals while using the product. Additionally, ChatGPT is evolving its approach to sensitive conversations involving critical personal decisions. Instead of providing direct advice on matters such as ending a relationship, the AI will now encourage users to reflect on their choices by posing thoughtful questions and outlining potential pros and cons.
