Fashion rental app By Rotation and Uber partner to help deliver ski clothing

By Rotation, a leading peer-to-peer fashion rental platform in the UK, has announced an exciting collaboration with Uber that aims to enhance the ski clothing rental experience. This partnership allows By Rotation users to rent ski outfits from their neighbors and receive them via Uber within just 60 minutes, all while enjoying a 10% discount on delivery. While this offer is available to all users, it is particularly designed for those in need of ski gear rentals. The initiative comes in response to the needs of By Rotation's community, as 30% of ski renters on the platform prefer same-day service. The founders recognized the hassle of carrying bulky ski equipment and sought to offer a more convenient solution. Eshita Kabra-Davies, the CEO of By Rotation, expressed that this collaboration is rooted in the company’s commitment to sustainability while also catering to the urgent demands of modern consumers. Kabra-Davies highlighted the phenomenon of the 'emergency economy,' where individuals find themselves in a panic over needing an outfit at the last minute. This partnership with Uber aims to eliminate logistics as a barrier, transforming the fashion rental experience from a cumbersome task into a swift and efficient process. By providing rapid access to high-quality clothing, the collaboration promotes a shift from 'fast fashion' to a more sustainable 'slow fashion' model. As fashion remains one of the most environmentally damaging industries, the sharing economy is gaining traction among younger consumers who are seeking sustainable alternatives. When users complete their transactions on the By Rotation app, they will see an option for Uber Courier, which applies the discount automatically, enhancing their shopping experience. Since its launch in 2019, By Rotation has grown significantly, boasting over 1 million users and a luxury inventory valued at over $100 million. The platform has even enabled individuals to use their earnings from renting clothes for important life events, such as funding IVF treatments. Looking ahead, Kabra-Davies envisions expanding By Rotation into a global leader in shared fashion, with plans already underway for new markets including New York and the UAE. "Our ambition, like Uber’s, is global," she stated. "We want to establish the 'rotating wardrobe' as the standard approach to consumption across the globe."
