Bluesky CEO Graber stepping back as former WordPress parent chief named interim boss

In a significant leadership change, Jay Graber, the CEO of Bluesky, announced on Monday that she will step down from her current role and transition to become the Chief Innovation Officer of the company. Graber shared this update through a post on the platform, emphasizing the need for a seasoned leader to guide the company as it expands. "As Bluesky matures, the company needs a seasoned operator focused on scaling and execution, while I return to what I do best: building new things," Graber stated in her announcement. Taking over as interim CEO is Toni Schneider, who previously served as the CEO of Automattic, the company behind WordPress, and is currently a partner at True Ventures. Graber also noted that both Automattic and True Ventures are investors in Bluesky. Bluesky was initially created by Jack Dorsey within Twitter back in 2019 and has since gained traction as a viable alternative to X, especially after Elon Musk's takeover of Twitter. Graber has been at the helm of Bluesky since its spinoff from Twitter in 2021, leading the company into its next phase of growth.
