Bluesky users are mastering the fine art of blaming everything on “vibe coding”

Bluesky attributed the interruptions to problems stemming from an "upstream service provider." What set this outage apart was the immediate reaction from users, many of whom pointed fingers at the development team, accusing them of relying too heavily on AI-driven "vibe coding." During the service hiccup, Bluesky's feeds became inundated with posts blaming developers for utilizing unreliable AI tools that supposedly contributed to the flawed code. Users expressed their frustrations through memes, ironic commentary, and pointed critiques of the alleged coding practices. The sentiment among those criticizing the use of AI in development was one of fierce indignation. One user, T-Kay, voiced a strong opinion, stating, "Any developer or programmer using ‘vibe-coding’ or any reliance on AI to code is clearly too incompetent to do their job and should be fired out of a cannon. Coding takes skill, not sloppiness." This outcry reflects a broader skepticism among many tech users regarding the integration of AI in the development process.
