BGMI 4.2 update released: Check all new features

Krafton India has officially launched the BGMI 4.2 Update, introducing exciting collaborations, a refreshed competitive framework, and a variety of new events. Although the update went live today, players will have to wait until January 19, 2026, to experience the addition of Royal Enfield motorcycles in the game. One of the standout features of this update is the Primewood Genesis theme mode. This imaginative concept aims to transform the battlefield into a dynamic, evolving environment. It emphasizes player collaboration through a shared progression system, where every match contributes to the growth of a central 'World Tree.' According to Krafton, this innovative approach fosters community cooperation, making the battleground feel alive and responsive. The Primewood Genesis mode is designed to enhance the gameplay experience by reimagining the terrain with mutant flora, evolving structures, and strategic control zones. Players are encouraged to explore, coordinate with their squads, and make tactical decisions. A Global World Tree Progress Bar will unlock unique abilities based on collective player participation, while the map will feature a Primewood Heart that allows players to manipulate battlefield mechanics such as shields, teleportation gates, and healing zones. Additionally, new gameplay elements are introduced, including Florawings for improved flight, Targeting Vines to ensnare enemies, and unique vehicles like the Bramblewood Scorpion, which can burrow underground. Notably, the update also brings Royal Enfield's iconic Continental GT 650 and Bullet 350 bikes, alongside themed crates and rewards, starting January 19, 2026. Players can also look forward to the inclusion of characters from the Peaky Blinders series, complete with a voice pack from Thomas Shelby. Moreover, the BGMI 4.2 update will feature seasonal events linked to national celebrations in India, including a Republic Day Exchange that offers permanent rewards and themed gifts, as well as a Holi Exchange with unlockable themed sets. The BGIS Exchange will also provide permanent rewards along with a Royal Enfield event crate coupon, enhancing the overall gaming experience.
