In a strategic move following the recent tensions between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos is reportedly making efforts to engage with Trump, as indicated by a report from The Wall Street Journal. This month, Bezos has had two discussions with Trump, during which they explored the possibility of increasing government contracts for Bezos's space venture, Blue Origin. Additionally, Dave Limp, the CEO of Blue Origin, visited the White House to meet with Trump’s chief of staff, Susie Wiles. Interestingly, Bezos has also extended an invitation to Trump for his upcoming wedding in Venice, Italy. These interactions come on the heels of a public feud between Musk and Trump, where Musk has made allegations regarding the president's connections, while Trump threatened to withdraw substantial government funds from Musk’s enterprises. As the spat between Musk and Trump has subsided, Bezos appears to be positioning Blue Origin to take advantage of the situation, particularly after Trump retracted the nomination of Musk’s favored candidate to lead NASA. While Musk is advocating for SpaceX’s focus on Mars missions, Blue Origin is setting its sights on lunar exploration. Reports suggest that Trump has expressed interest to Bezos in achieving a crewed lunar mission during his presidency.
