BenQ has officially launched the ScreenBar Halo 2 in India, branding it as a cutting-edge lighting solution tailored for professionals, creators, and gamers who frequently navigate low or variable lighting environments. This new model emerges after four years of extensive research and user feedback, boasting an impressive 423% wider coverage compared to its predecessor, thanks to an innovative triple-curvature backlight and an enhanced dual-light system. The ScreenBar Halo 2 is designed to address the common drawbacks associated with traditional desk lamps, such as glare and inconsistent lighting. Utilizing BenQ’s advanced ASYM Light optical technology, the lamp features an 18-degree asymmetrical cut-off angle that efficiently directs light onto the desk rather than the computer screen. This strategic design mitigates glare and minimizes direct light exposure to users' eyes, promoting a balanced ambient brightness that BenQ emphasizes is crucial for reducing visual fatigue. "Understanding the precision needs of professionals is paramount to us," stated JC Pan, Chief Product Designer at BenQ Smart Lighting. He highlighted the re-engineered controller, which offers an intuitive and precise user experience. The anti-fingerprint coated wireless control dial allows for seamless adjustments of brightness (ranging from 0% to 100%) and color temperature (from 2700K to 6500K), making it ideal for tasks like color grading, content creation, or late-night work sessions. Additionally, the Halo 2 features a redesigned mounting system that replaces traditional clips with a gravity-inspired mechanism crafted from zinc alloy. This new design allows the lamp to rest gently on monitors of various thicknesses, including curved displays, without causing any damage. "It rests gently on the screen instead of clipping on, which makes it far more screen-friendly," noted Judy Yang, Lead Mechanical Engineer at BenQ Smart Lighting. Among its smart capabilities, the Halo 2 includes auto-dimming, motion detection that activates the lamp upon the user's return to the desk, and memory settings to store preferred lighting configurations. These features aim to provide a seamless and energy-efficient experience throughout the day. The design was co-developed with MINIMAL Design, led by former Nike Global Creative Director Scott Wilson, resulting in a sleek metallic finish and minimalist profile intended to integrate seamlessly into upscale home offices and studio environments, while complementing BenQ’s PD, RD, MOBIUZ, and MA monitor lines. "At BenQ, we believe that great technology should enhance the human experience," remarked Rajeev Singh, Managing Director of BenQ India and South Asia. He further emphasized that the ScreenBar Halo 2 fuses intelligent engineering, elegant aesthetics, and smart automation to foster healthier, more productive, and visually inspiring modern workspaces. The BenQ ScreenBar Halo 2 is now available for purchase through BenQ’s India E-Store, Amazon India, and selected retail partners, priced at Rs 17,490.
