Electronic Arts has announced a postponement of the highly anticipated Season 2 for Battlefield 6, extending the current season to provide extra development time. Initially slated for a January launch, Season 2 will now commence on February 17. This means that Season 1, which was set to wrap up on January 20, will continue for an extended period. To maintain player engagement during this delay, EA will implement a new update next week. This update will introduce a series of weekly challenges, a Bonus Path for additional rewards, and continued access to the Season 1 Battle Pass until the arrival of Season 2. The update is designed to keep the community active while the development team finalizes the upcoming season’s content. In a blog post on the Battlefield 6 website, EA explained that the decision to delay was made after careful consideration of player feedback, describing it as the “best path forward” to ensure Season 2 meets player expectations. Additionally, EA has indicated that Battlefield Labs will have a more significant role as a public testing environment for upcoming features. As part of the extended Season 1, players can look forward to unlocking new rewards through the Frostfire Bonus Path starting January 27. This includes a new weapon package, a soldier skin, and XP boosts, all available alongside the existing Battle Pass, with free rewards also on offer. While fans anticipated new maps and gameplay modes to debut in January, EA has confirmed that these updates will be postponed. More detailed information regarding Season 2 will be shared in February, alongside a larger roadmap for Battlefield 6, which includes developments in the RedSec storyline. Since its launch on October 10, Battlefield 6 has already seen multiple content updates within Season 1, bringing new maps, modes, and weapons to players. EA believes that this extended season will ultimately lead to more polished and engaging content in future updates.
