Asus has officially launched its latest Chromebook model, the CX14, in India, marking a significant addition to its lineup of laptops powered by ChromeOS. This device is specifically designed for students and educators, offering an appealing combination of portability, durability, and user-friendliness, all at a starting price of ₹18,990. Weighing in at just 1.39 kg, the Chromebook CX14 boasts a sleek design with a wear-resistant paint finish and meets US military-grade durability standards. Its construction incorporates environmentally friendly materials, featuring 30% recycled plastic, and is further enhanced with diamond and stone powder for improved abrasion resistance. Under the hood, the Chromebook runs on ChromeOS and is equipped with an Intel Celeron N4500 processor, supporting up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of eMMC storage. The device sports a 14-inch Full HD display, available in both TN and VIPS panel options, with brightness levels reaching up to 300 nits. In terms of connectivity, users can take advantage of Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4, alongside various ports including a USB Type-C with Power Delivery and DisplayPort support, HDMI 1.4, USB Type-A, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The Chromebook also features a Full HD webcam equipped with a physical shutter, dual microphones for clear audio during video calls, and dual stereo speakers. Designed with user convenience in mind, the CX14 includes a 180-degree hinge for flexible viewing, integrated Google Workspace support, automatic updates, and offline access with file backups. Security is a priority, with built-in antivirus measures and the Titan C security chip ensuring user safety. The Chromebook CX14 is available in two configurations: the base model CX1405CKA-NK0154 at ₹18,990 and the upgraded CX1405CKA-NK0155 priced at ₹20,990. It can be purchased through Flipkart and Asus’s official online store, with a third variant, CX1405CKA-S60394, set to launch on Amazon soon.
