Astronomer, a company known for its contributions to open-source technologies, has announced the initiation of an investigation involving its CEO, Andy Byron. This decision comes on the heels of a video that circulated widely on social media showing Byron in a seemingly intimate moment with Kristin Cabot, the head of human relations, during a Coldplay concert in Boston. In a statement shared on X, the Board of Directors confirmed that a formal inquiry is underway, promising to release further details soon. "Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability," the company emphasized. The incident captured the attention of many, particularly after Byron, who is married, was seen with his arms around Cabot. Following their appearance on the concert's big screen, the duo quickly ducked down to hide their faces. Reports indicate that both Byron and Cabot have since been placed on leave as the investigation unfolds. Just a few months ago, Astronomer secured a significant investment of $93 million, led by Bain Ventures and other notable backers, including Salesforce Ventures. Notably, the firm, known for its open-source data operations platform Astro, relocated its headquarters from Cincinnati, Ohio, to New York last year.
