Apple has officially scheduled its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) for June 8 to June 12, taking place both online and at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, California. The tech giant revealed that this year's event will spotlight significant advancements in artificial intelligence, alongside updates for its major platforms, including iOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS, as well as new software and developer tools. The conference will be accessible to viewers via the Apple Developer app, the official website, and the Apple Developer YouTube channel. For audiences in China, the event will also be streamed on the Apple Developer bilibili channel. Last year's WWDC primarily showcased the innovative “Liquid Glass” interface design, with minimal emphasis on AI. However, expectations are high for this year's lineup. Apple is anticipated to unveil a redesigned Siri that incorporates advanced AI functionalities. Earlier this year, the company struck a partnership with Google to utilize the Gemini platform for AI features within its ecosystem. This WWDC may finally reveal the enhanced Siri, equipped with improved contextual understanding and on-screen awareness. At the previous conference, Apple introduced its Foundation Model framework, which supports AI models capable of functioning offline, and further advancements are likely to be announced this year. The integration of AI coding models such as ChatGPT into Xcode and the introduction of agentic coding tools from Anthropic and OpenAI signal Apple's commitment to advancing AI capabilities in its development environment.
