Apple is gearing up for its much-anticipated Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), kicking off on Monday, June 9, at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, California. The five-day event will launch with a keynote presentation led by CEO Tim Cook at 10 am PT (10:30 pm IST), where the tech giant is expected to unveil its latest software innovations across its diverse ecosystem, including iOS, iPadOS, macOS, visionOS, watchOS, and tvOS. Although hardware announcements may take a backseat this year, the focus will be sharply on artificial intelligence. Apple is set to strengthen its Apple Intelligence initiative, which debuted in 2024, as it seeks to catch up with competitors like Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI in integrating generative AI into its devices. The keynote will be accessible worldwide via Apple’s website, YouTube, the Apple TV app, and the Apple Developer app. Following the keynote, a ‘Platforms State of the Union’ presentation will take place at 1 pm PT (1:30 am IST), providing developers with insights into upcoming software capabilities and framework improvements. Throughout the week, WWDC 2025 will feature over 100 technical sessions and hands-on labs, allowing developers to collaborate with Apple engineers and gain expert advice on design, performance optimization, and AI integration within their applications. Additionally, members of the Apple Developer and Enterprise Programs will have the opportunity to schedule one-on-one lab sessions. In a bid to foster emerging talent, Apple will also host 50 winners of the Swift Student Challenge at its headquarters for a three-day curated experience, recognizing their exceptional coding and app submissions. Historically, WWDC has served as Apple's platform to showcase its software vision for the upcoming year. With increasing demands for smarter, AI-enhanced experiences across its devices, the tech community is eager to see how Apple plans to weave intelligence into its renowned user experience without sacrificing privacy or control. For developers, tech enthusiasts, and everyday users alike, this year’s WWDC promises to be a pivotal moment in the evolution of Apple’s AI-centric software ecosystem.
