Today marks the beginning of Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in Cupertino, California, where the tech giant is set to unveil the latest updates for its software across all platforms. As Apple strives to shift the narrative away from its perceived shortcomings in the AI sector and the inconsistent rollout of its Apple Intelligence features, the company aims to spotlight its new innovations. The event will take place at Apple Park starting at 10 AM PT (which is 10:30 PM IST) and will be streamed live on various platforms, including YouTube, Apple's official website, and the Apple app. For those unable to tune in live, on-demand playback will be available once the conference concludes. One of the major anticipated announcements at this year’s WWDC is a significant change in the naming convention for software versions. Instead of the traditional numbering, future iPhone software will be labeled as iOS 26, with similar updates for iPadOS and macOS. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, this year’s standout feature could be a revamped user interface for all Apple operating systems, inspired by visionOS. This new interface is expected to incorporate digital glass elements along with enhanced use of light and transparency. Users may see a redesign of toolbars, tab bars, app icons, and buttons, along with a new quick-access options feature when interacting with buttons. In addition to UI changes, Apple is rumored to be rolling out substantial updates to the Phone app, Safari, and the Camera app for both iOS and iPadOS. Furthermore, Gurman suggests that Apple plans to leverage its AI technology to enhance battery performance in iPhones. Stay tuned for the latest technology news and insights as the event unfolds.
