Apple typically keeps its upcoming product plans under wraps, but recent leaks from its software have shed light on several devices currently in testing. These leaks, which include a pre-release version of iOS 26 and details from a kernel debug kit, indicate that Apple is working on a variety of new products. Among the updates are anticipated releases such as a new Apple TV, a second generation HomePod mini, refreshed AirTags and AirPods, an M4 iPad Air, and a new version of the iPad set to replace the current A16 model. Additionally, next-generation iPhones—including the 17e and 18 models, along with a rumored foldable variant—are also in the pipeline. Other expected devices include an updated Studio Display and a new, budget-friendly MacBook to eventually replace the older M1 MacBook Air. However, the most intriguing insight from these leaks pertains to a high-end iMac featuring Apple's M5 Max chip. Identified in the kernel debug kit as having the internal code J833c and based on the H17C platform, this iMac is expected to offer superior performance compared to the standard M5 chip. The M5 Max chip, which is anticipated to be faster than the M5 and M5 Pro but slower than the rumored M5 Ultra, could serve as a successor to Apple's 27-inch iMac. This model was discontinued in 2022 without a direct replacement, and the M5 Max could also be the long-awaited revival for the iMac Pro, which was last launched in late 2017. The current M4 Max chip boasts impressive specifications, featuring up to 16 CPU cores and between 32 to 40 GPU cores, along with unified memory ranging from 36GB to 128GB. Expectations are high that the M5 Max will offer comparable or enhanced specs, making it a formidable choice for power users, and its integration into an all-in-one desktop PC should be straightforward given its compatibility with existing MacBook Pro models.
