Apple to host annual fall event on 9 September: What to expect?

Apple is gearing up for its highly anticipated annual fall event on September 9, as revealed in an invitation sent out on August 26. This gathering, taking place at the iconic Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California, is expected to showcase a range of new products including the latest iPhones, smartwatches, and other devices. Amid growing concerns about its position in the artificial intelligence landscape, Apple aims to highlight its latest initiatives to integrate AI into its product lineup. Investors are keenly observing the event, as competition in the AI sector intensifies and other tech giants have moved swiftly to capture market share. Reports suggest that Apple may unveil a new, sleeker model of the iPhone, potentially named the iPhone Air, following in the footsteps of its iPad Air and MacBook Air. Additionally, attendees can expect to see new variants of the Apple Watch, refreshed iPad Pros, and a faster Vision Pro headset, according to Bloomberg News. In a bid to bolster its U.S. investments, Apple has announced plans to invest $600 billion over the next four years, creating numerous jobs and shifting some operations to the U.S. This strategy is seen as a response to potential import tariffs affecting products from its key manufacturing locations, including China and India. Earlier this year, Apple revealed a series of AI enhancements and a major redesign of its operating system, introducing what it refers to as a “liquid glass” aesthetic. However, the company faces challenges in keeping pace with competitors like Samsung and Chinese brands such as Honor and Huawei, who have been quick to capitalize on the AI trend. In a separate announcement, Apple is also set to open its fourth retail store in India on September 4, located in Pune. This new store aims to enhance Apple’s presence in the region, allowing customers to explore and purchase products while experiencing Apple’s services in person. The store will open its doors at 1 PM in Koregaon Park, as detailed on the company’s website. Stay tuned for more updates on the iPhone 17, including its expected price, features, and launch details for the Pro, Pro Max, and Air models.
