Apple is enhancing the travel experience with new features in the Wallet app, as revealed during WWDC 2025. Among the most notable updates is the introduction of a digital passport feature, which aims to streamline identification processes during travel. While Apple clarifies that this digital passport is not intended to replace the physical document, it will serve as a handy tool for verifying age and identity in various applications, including at select TSA checkpoints. This development is particularly beneficial for those who may still be in the process of obtaining their Real ID. In addition to the digital passport, boarding passes stored in the Wallet app will also see significant upgrades. Users can look forward to enhanced features, such as direct links to terminal maps, simplifying the journey to gates and baggage claims. Furthermore, the integration with the Find My app will allow travelers to monitor the whereabouts of their AirTagged luggage directly through their boarding pass, making the travel experience more efficient and less stressful.
