Here’s what’s coming to macOS Tahoe

During the recent WWDC conference, Apple introduced its latest operating system, macOS Tahoe, showcasing a host of innovative features designed to enhance user interaction and streamline tasks across devices. One of the standout features of macOS Tahoe is its adoption of the striking 'Liquid Glass' design, offering users a modern and customizable aesthetic. This update allows for personalized folder colors, bringing a fresh look to the desktop environment. The design mirrors the reflective and transparent qualities of glass, reminiscent of the advancements seen in iOS 26. Beyond visual enhancements, macOS Tahoe integrates more closely with users' iPhones, providing access to Live Activities that appear on the lock screen, including real-time updates on services like Uber Eats. The introduction of Continuity features also marks a significant milestone, as it brings a Phone app to Mac for the first time. This inclusion comes with improvements such as Call Screening and Hold Assist, making communication more efficient. Additionally, the operating system enhances user experience through upgraded Spotlight capabilities. Leveraging Apple Intelligence, Spotlight now anticipates user needs, delivering intelligent search results and enabling users to execute tasks directly from the search interface. A demonstration highlighted how users can compose emails entirely within Spotlight, eliminating the need to switch apps. Quick keys allow for even faster actions, with users able to type shortcuts to access specific functions easily. macOS Tahoe also brings a variety of other significant updates, including Genmoji, Image Playground enhancements, AI-powered reminders, and a new Apple Games app. New features in Messages, such as customizable backgrounds and polls, along with a revamped FaceTime landing page, further enrich the user experience. The Journal app, a new addition, will also be available in this latest iteration. Set to launch this fall, macOS Tahoe will offer a public beta next month, with developers currently able to explore an early version of the system.
