Apple “started from scratch” to design all-new iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max

Apple has officially introduced its latest flagship devices, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, promising to elevate the smartphone experience to new heights. Starting at $1,099 and $1,199 respectively for the Pro and Pro Max versions, these models are poised to impress with their cutting-edge technology and design. The iPhone 17 series includes a basic model aimed at the general consumer, alongside the sleek new iPhone Air, which stands out for its ultra-thin profile. However, it is the Pro series that showcases Apple's commitment to delivering the very best in mobile technology. Preorders for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will kick off this Friday, with availability set for September 19. While the standout feature of the iPhone 17 is its display, the Pro models have received significant upgrades across the board. The new devices boast an aluminum unibody construction that incorporates a glass cutout for wireless charging, along with an expansive camera bump, which Apple refers to as the "camera plateau." One of the most exciting enhancements is the introduction of 48MP Fusion Cameras across all three lenses on the camera plateau. The default setting utilizes pixel binning to optimize image quality by condensing 48MP images into smaller file sizes. Moreover, the telephoto lens now offers an impressive 8x zoom capability, allowing users to capture stunning detail by cropping directly from the center of the high-resolution image, a feature Apple calls "optical-quality zoom." This is the first time Fusion Cameras have been implemented in the telephoto sensor, which is also significantly larger—56 percent bigger than its predecessor. With these advancements, Apple continues to push the boundaries of smartphone photography, ensuring that the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max remain at the forefront of the market.
