Apple has launched an upgraded version of its popular AirTag tracking device, now referred to as 'the new AirTag.' This latest iteration boasts significant enhancements, primarily due to the incorporation of a new Bluetooth chip. Originally released five years ago, the AirTag quickly gained traction for its versatility. However, concerns surrounding privacy issues, such as unwanted tracking and potential misuse, have shadowed its reputation. In response, Apple has incrementally rolled out features designed to bolster user safety, ultimately improving the device's standing. The revamped AirTag aims to enhance its effectiveness. Equipped with a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip, which is also featured in the latest iPhone 17, this new model can leverage the Precision Finding feature within the Find My app. This advancement allows users to locate their AirTag and any associated lost item from distances up to 50 percent greater than before.
