Apple has officially introduced its latest headphones, the AirPods Max 2, building upon the original model released back in December 2020. This new iteration boasts significant enhancements, particularly in active noise cancellation (ANC), powered by the advanced H2 chip. Originally unveiled with the AirPods Pro (2nd Generation) in September 2022, the H2 chip marks a substantial upgrade from the H1 chip found in the first generation of AirPods Max. According to Apple, the incorporation of the H2 chip, along with innovative computational audio algorithms, allows the AirPods Max 2 to deliver ANC that is up to 1.5 times more effective than its predecessor. Additionally, the new headphones feature a more refined Transparency mode, thanks to a specialized digital signal processing algorithm designed for the H2 chip, making the listening experience feel much more natural. The AirPods Max 2 also introduce a variety of new functionalities, including adaptive audio, which smartly adjusts sound levels in both Transparency and ANC modes based on surrounding noise levels. Moreover, the headphones are equipped with Conversation Awareness, a feature that automatically lowers the volume when someone speaks to you. The H2 chip also enhances the AirPods Max 2's capabilities, enabling live translation powered by Apple Intelligence and voice isolation technology. This feature prioritizes the speaker’s voice during calls, effectively minimizing background noise for clearer conversations. With a price tag of $549, these headphones promise to redefine the listening experience for Apple users.
