In a significant legal move, Apple has initiated a lawsuit against YouTuber Jon Prosser, alongside Michael Ramacciotti, for allegedly leaking confidential information about its upcoming operating system, iOS 26. This revelation comes after Prosser shared a video on his Front Page Tech channel in January 2025, claiming it featured an exclusive preview of what he referred to as 'iOS 19.' While Prosser maintained that he couldn't reveal the actual video to protect his source, he showcased a mock-up of a redesigned Camera app, which ultimately aligned with Apple's anticipated 'Liquid Glass' redesign. This redesign was officially unveiled during Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference in June. Additionally, Prosser had shared further insights about iOS 19 in April, dubbing it 'the biggest iOS leak ever.' Apple's lawsuit underscores the seriousness of the leak. The company accused Prosser and Ramacciotti of orchestrating a 'coordinated scheme' to unlawfully access an Apple employee's phone to obtain and share proprietary information on YouTube, allegedly for financial gain through ad revenue. The complaint, which has been made public by MacRumors, details how Ramacciotti, who was friends with Apple employee Ethan Lipnik, accessed Lipnik's iPhone containing the pre-release version of iOS. According to the allegations, Ramacciotti used FaceTime to connect with Prosser and reveal the new software design that was still under development.
