Apple Watch Series 11, Ultra 3 leak ahead of Awe Dropping event: What to expect

Apple is gearing up to unveil an updated smartwatch lineup, featuring the Series 11 and Ultra 3 models, during its highly anticipated 'Awe Dropping' event on September 9. This launch will coincide with the introduction of the iPhone 17 series. According to insights from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the Series 11 is expected to maintain a design similar to its predecessor while enhancing its display capabilities with increased brightness for better visibility in outdoor settings. The tech giant may also introduce new color options and strap choices, responding to user feedback regarding durability issues associated with the Jet Black finish of the previous Series 10. While the Series 10 was considered a significant redesign, the Series 11 appears to be more of an incremental update. It is anticipated to be powered by the new S11 chip and feature a MediaTek modem that supports 5G RedCap for wearable devices. Although there has been speculation about the inclusion of blood pressure monitoring, Gurman suggests that this feature is not yet ready for rollout. Pre-orders for the Series 11 are expected to start on September 12, with the official launch following on September 19. In addition, recent leaks from MacRumors indicate that the Ultra 3 will boast Apple’s largest smartwatch display to date. Code discovered in iOS 26 suggests a higher-resolution screen with narrower bezels, enhancing both aesthetics and outdoor readability, while providing additional space for complex watch faces. The Ultra 3 is likely to incorporate either the enhanced S10 chip or the new S11, potentially allowing for a larger battery or more sensors. It is also rumored to feature the latest LPTO3 OLED display technology, which promises smoother animations and improved always-on capabilities. The upcoming September event will not only highlight the Apple Watch series but also emphasize the company’s ongoing commitment to health, durability, and performance within its wearable technology portfolio.
