In a highly anticipated event set in California, Apple is preparing to launch its latest iPhone 17 lineup, which includes the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Alongside these new smartphones, the tech giant is also expected to reveal a range of accessories, including the AirPods Pro 3 and the Apple Watch Ultra 3. One of the most talked-about features of the iPhone 17 series is the ProMotion 120Hz display, which will reportedly be available across all models this year, a change from previous releases where it was exclusive to the Pro versions. The iPhone 17 is likely to sport a 6.3-inch display, while the iPhone 17 Air could feature a 6.6-inch screen. The Pro and Pro Max models may come with even larger displays measuring 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively. In terms of performance, the iPhone 17 Pro models are expected to be equipped with the A19 Pro processor, while the standard iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air will likely utilize the standard A19 chipset. All three models, including the Air and the Pro variants, are anticipated to come with an increase in RAM to 12GB, enhancing multitasking capabilities and supporting advanced Apple Intelligence features. The iPhone 17 Pro is rumored to showcase a significant redesign, including a horizontal camera module that departs from the squarish design seen in the iPhone 16 series. Furthermore, an upgraded 48MP telephoto lens could position these models as pioneers in Apple's lineup, featuring triple 48MP sensors for enhanced photography. As for pricing, the iPhone 17 is expected to maintain its previous year's price starting at $799. However, the iPhone 17 Air, Pro, and Pro Max are likely to see price increases ranging from $50 to $100 due to the enhanced features. Here’s the anticipated pricing structure: iPhone 17: $799, iPhone 17 Air: $949 - $1,000, iPhone 17 Pro: $1,099, and iPhone 17 Pro Max: $1,199 - $1,249. Recent leaks have also suggested battery capacities for the new models, with the iPhone 17 Pro Max boasting a battery exceeding 5,000mAh, while the iPhone 17 Air might feature the smallest battery capacity among the four. For those eager to catch the launch event, it will be streamed live on Apple’s official YouTube channel, website, and Apple TV. The event is scheduled to take place at the Steve Jobs Theatre in Cupertino, starting at 10:30 PM IST. The iPhone 17 series is expected to be available for pre-order beginning September 12, with general sales commencing on September 19. In addition, Apple may discontinue the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models, along with the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. As for color options, the iPhone 17 is likely to feature black and white variants, along with new colors including steel gray, green, purple, and light blue. With the upcoming launch, Apple is also rumored to reduce prices for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, potentially slashing prices by up to ₹10,000 as part of their typical strategy following a new release.
